Dear Supporter of West Wales Friends of Palestine.
We hope you are keeping well in these difficult times. No doubt you will be aware that Palestinian people, in the West Bank and Gaza, have had many specific problems relating to the occupation, the absence of international monitoring and the pandemic. The fact that they do not have access to vaccination has become news on the BBC.
As you will know from our Newsletter, we have extended our support in Palestine to the Jenin Refugee Camp. Our particular focus is the Al Jaleel Rehabilitation Centre where children and adults with physical disabilities are supported with therapies and specialist equipment. Resources are very limited everywhere in Palestine but particularly in the Refugee Camps. Al Jaleel is striving to equip an occupational therapy department, and we have given them £550 to buy some of the basics. However much more is needed and we want to send them some money every couple of months.
Please would you consider supporting this? It will help children and adults who lack limbs, are paralysed or have disabilities like cerebral palsy. If you could commit a small sum of money such as £5 every month or two, this would enable us to buy them more essential equipment. We are also seeking support from any physiotherapists and occupational therapists who may be willing to give an hour of their time, perhaps on a weekly or monthly basis, to support or mentor one of those working in the camp.
